Caught In The Hunt Oblivion Quest Walkthrough And Objectives
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion features a wide array of memorable side quests, and Caught in the Hunt stands out as one of the most engaging stories in the city of Bravil. Players are drawn into a desperate search for a missing husband, only to discover a deadly game orchestrated by corrupt elites. Navigating this mission requires careful preparation, tactical combat, and a clear understanding of each quest objective.
Starting the Quest in Bravil
To initiate the quest, travel to Bravil and speak with Ursanne Loche regarding her missing husband, Aleron. She explains that Aleron owed money to a local Dunmer named Kurdan gro-Dragol, who might know his whereabouts. Locating Kurdan in the Lonely Suitor Inn reveals that he is willing to share information only if you perform a favor for him.
Navigating Fort Grief and the Hunter's Run
Kurdan directs you to Fort Grief, an island fortress situated in Niben Bay. Upon arriving at Fort Grief and unlocking the gate, you locate Aleron Loche, who delivers a grim revelation. Kurdan has turned the island into a hunting ground where unsuspecting victims become prey for wealthy hunters.
To escape the fortress, you must enter the Hunter's Run dungeon to retrieve the key required to open the main gates. The underground labyrinth is filled with traps and heavily armed hunters who will attack on sight. Stealth or heavy combat strategies can be employed to eliminate these opponents one by one as you clear the area.
Defeating Kurdan and Completing the Objectives
After acquiring the necessary key from the chief hunter inside the dungeon, return to the courtyard of Fort Grief. You will find Kurdan waiting, leading to a confrontational fight where you must defeat him to secure final passage off the island. Once Kurdan is slain, collect any remaining keys from his body to unlock the fortress gates.
Return to Bravil to inform Ursanne Loche of her husband's tragic fate and your vengeance upon his captors. Although the outcome is bittersweet, Ursanne expresses her gratitude and rewards you with the Biography of the Wolf Queen book, which increases your Speechcraft skill. Completing this mission provides valuable Fame points and concludes one of Cyrodiil's most chilling side stories.
